Course Description: The spiritual soul within many of us beckons to be heard. Perhaps no other topic evokes as much emotion as does religion. Come listen to your heart and learn how to let the words flow to connect with the spiritual minds of your readers.

Week One: Knowing your audience and getting started
Week Two: Techniques on researching a religion topic
Week Three: Tips on identifying what to write about and what sells
Week Four: Finding the right kind of market for your work

Objective:
This course will prepare students with various techniques on how to begin writing about religion to ultimately develop a comfortable writing style. Research skills will be discussed and practiced to help students identify and explore marketable topic ideas under religion. By the end of this course, students will gain a better understanding of how to go about writing on
religion and what skills are needed to successfully market their work.

About the Facilitator, Anayat Durrani:

Anayat Durrani has an A.A. degree in Spanish, a Bachelor of Arts in Government with emphasis in International Relations, and a Masters degree in Journalism and International Relations. She has published articles in newspapers, magazines, various other publications, and online. Currently, she is a freelancer doing just about everything a person
can do as a freelancer, from interviewer, to copyeditor, to writer/journalist. Aside from that, she writes weekly articles for her column on religion.
